So in May I arrived in London Stansted, choosing the lot more complicated and time-killing way as I found out pretty soon. I decided to go to Brighton by bus. Lucky me I was the only one who booked this bus: it was cancelled. Lovely 50 minutes later I was able to get on another bus and having a direct connection to Brighton. Again I was amazed by such polite and nice people. I was really excited about coming back to Brighton and when I arrived at Pool Valley station the "suffering" was over.Nina was waiting for me and I was prepared for some great days. But first we had to go uphill, downhill and uphill again. We didn`t go home directly but wanted to meet some of Ninas friends. We ended up in a shoeshop where I,still kind of drunk of all the happy feelings and way too impulsive bought too expensive shoes without thinking about the fact that I only had handluggage and no space left...I had to send them by post...What a gender stereotype! So we went home.
I defeated Mount Pleasant being happy to only carry handluggage this time.
When Nina had to go to work I decided the best thing to do when having days off, sunshine and the sea is of course to go to the beach just enjoying watching the daily life in Brighton with a coffe and icecream. I felt like this is the best thing that can happen to you:spending free time simple and easy in the sun. What else can you wish for?
Till Thursday nothing spectacular happend not meaning that it wasn`t a lot of fun. The Great Escape took place whilst I stayed so there was always something going on. Concerts and plays and many other things. We watched Othello by the drama class of the Brighton university. For unprofessional actors it was really good and worth the money. Besides we thought it was a good idea to do something more challenging for our minds. We continued with some intellectual stuff when going to Preston park to watch Romeo and Juliet-more a lowbrow as we found out later but a lot of fun.
At thursday we met some friends, spending a lovely evening at their house, drinking too much, leading to the decision that I would cancel my flight which I was suppose to leave for at friday 1am by bus...a way too expensive decision I had to realize later but worth it. I gained 3 more sunny days in Brighton ending with a bad sunburn.Unfortunately only on the right side.
I booked a new flight for monday morning and had a nice last night ending too early with not enough sleep at all.
Not surprisingly at all I guess I am going back to Brighton end of June.
So I can only say: to be continued!
